From director Oliver Stone, SNOWDEN takes a look at Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a former NSA employee who decides to breach his security clearance and release classified information about the U.S. government’s cyber surveillance program, revealing that ordinary Americans are being tracked through digital communication. He leaves behind his longtime love Lindsay (Shailene Woodley) and flies to Hong Kong to meet with journalists Glenn Greenwald (Zachary Quinto) and Ewen MacAskill (Tom Wilkinson), and filmmaker Laura Poitras (Melissa Leo), knowing his life will change forever once the information is leaked to the world. The story, written by Stone and Kieran Fitzgerald, examines the forces that turned a conservative young patriot into a polarizing whistleblower and poses questions about which liberties we are willing to give up in order for our government to protect us.
Written and directed by Ben Younger, BLEED FOR THIS centers on real-life Rhode Island boxer Vinny Pazienza (Miles Teller), AKA “The Pazmanian Devil,” whose fight promoter urges him to retire following a brutal beating from Junior Welterweight Champion Roger Mayweather in 1988. Instead, Pazienza moves up two weight classes under the guidance of his new trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart) and becomes Super Middleweight champion of the world. But the same day of his victory, a near-fatal car accident leaves him with a broken neck and the prognosis that he might never walk again. Refusing to abandon boxing, Vinny taps his reluctant trainer and stages a triumphant return to the ring.
